FIELD TRIPS

Bring your students out to the Flower Field for a hands-on farm experience they won’t forget. Our field trip program is designed for school groups, homeschool groups, and summer camps looking for an engaging outdoor learning opportunity. During their visit, children will explore the flower field and learn about how flowers are grown, the important role of pollinators, and how farmers manage both beneficial insects and garden pests. This interactive tour introduces kids to the basics of farming and flower production in a fun and approachable way. Field trips are ideal for groups of up to 30 students and teachers. The activity and tour typically last approximately 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on group size.

Lesson

During the field tour, students will explore the growing areas while learning about pollinators and beneficial insects that help the farm thrive. They will discover the important role bees, butterflies, and other helpful insects play in flower production, as well as how farmers manage garden pests. This lesson makes the connection between farming and nature easy for children to understand.

Flower Harvesting

Children will enjoy the special experience of harvesting their own flower directly from the field. As they walk through the blooms, they will learn how flowers grow, when they are ready to be picked, and how farmers care for them throughout the season. This hands-on activity gives each child a chance to connect with nature in a fun and memorable way.

Art

Students will take part in a simple flower-inspired art project. Using flowers and natural materials as inspiration, they will create a fun keepsake to remember their day on the farm. This creative activity adds an artistic element to the field trip and allows kids to express what they learned.

Sunflower Planting

Each child will also plant their own sunflower seed to take home. They will learn the basics of planting, watering, and caring for their seed as it grows. This activity gives students a simple way to continue the learning experience at home while watching their own flower begin to grow.
